After three and half decades behind a desk, I finally took the plunge to turn my hobby and passion into the little business you see here. I still enjoy my wonderful day job, however, so for a while yet this is strictly evenings and weekends!
I have always loved creating things with wood and metal and hopefully I can share some of my craft with you.
We make serving boards, chopping boards, bowls and tables using largely native hardwoods, anything from huge waney edge slabs and slices through to planed, sanded and polished exotics.
Every piece of wood is unique and we keep a limited stock of finished pieces because we feel you should get what you want, not what we think you want!
We offer an almost infinite number of sizes of boards or tables and types of wood and coloured resins. When you decide what combination best suits your needs, we can settle on the dimensions with you and we will get cracking! All wood is from sustainable sources and, where possible, felled, cut and dried by us. We only use exotic species where we are certain they are from sustainable and managed stock.
We create pieces which, if properly cared for, you can enjoy for years to come but wood moves and changes over time, particularly large slabs or slices of trunk.
Please look at our Aftercare page for more details.
To help you maintain your piece we supply products like Board Butter and always provide care suggestions for outdoor furniture.
We embrace the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi and believe that any repair should be celebrated as part of the history of the piece.
No, this isn’t a plea for help finding our wax, it’s a thing! We use the lost wax process to cast unique pieces in Sterling Silver, Brass, Pewter or pretty much anything that we can melt in our forges. This is the newest part of our business and with the Silver price where it is it remains very bespoke, just offering one-off pieces. Please contact us to find out more.
